Who am I? And, why this blog?
My name is María López Fontanals. I am a freelance writer, journalist and blogger. I’ve been living in Rotterdam (Netherlands) for over two years, although I was born in a village of Aragon (Spain).
I’m the contributor to the EFE Agency in the Netherlands and I also write for magazines about food, travel and lifestyle, since, as a journalist, I am specialized in food and gastronomy. You can read here some of my published articles.
I am a digital marketing and social media specialist, and I offer professional training programmes in Spanish about web marketing and web design for entrepreneurs and people who are actively looking for a job in the Netherlands. You can check here my online and face-to-face training courses.
I write regularly on my blog, Saborea, where I share ideas, recipes and special references to enjoy everyday life, household and daily pleasures.
I am passionate about tasting new flavours and new cuisines from around the world, I love discovering new places and I enjoy living exotic experiences a lot, meeting new people and being spontaneous. I love design and art (I have a bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences and Cultural Management and I worked for almost 11 years as a Technical Specialist in Cultural Communication), innovation and creativity, and topics such as entrepreneurship, start-ups and self-improvement.
At the same time, it must be because my mind is talkative, diverse and sometimes too chaotic, I need to be in connection with my daily and inner life, because this is the way I find my balance and calm. And that’s why I like to think about the things that surround me, about domestic and everyday life, and enjoy little and simple things in life.
My goal now is to live consciously and I support the slow living movement and the simple life. I believe that we don’t have to search for happiness because happiness is in each of our daily pleasures.
The real meaning of life resides in our daily affairs, in the simplest things, in our work, of course, but also in our personal relationships and family, in a conversation, in food, in our homes, activities and household choices, in short, in the way we spend our day.
I strongly believe that true happiness lies in the little things of everyday life.
What will you find on the blog?
Saborea is an online magazine about everyday life, household and daily pleasures. In Saborea you’ll find ideas, stories, recipes and special references on food, travel and our daily life, paying special attention to slow and simple living and little things in life.

Simple cookery recipes and many desserts
Simple recipes where I’ll use seasonal products and, as far as possible, organic and local food. And many many desserts because they are my weakness.
I don’t follow any special diet, although I try to eat a lot of vegetables, grains and cereals. I also try to avoid as far as possible eating too much meat protein.
In this section you will find recipes in text format, video recipes and fictional recipes.
Domesticity and everyday life NEW!
I’ve been interested in domesticity and home life for a long time, but I have rarely shared content and thoughts on this matter, probably because it seemed to me that it was something so personal to share and an old-fashioned topic to talk about.
However, I am convinced that we should celebrate our domestic life, how we enjoy and take care of our intimate space and our home, in the same way as we celebrate our professional life. So I’ve opened a new section to discuss and think about our daily chores and domestic life.
Beauty. Recipes for personal care products you can prepare at home NEW!
Food is one of the pillars of our health and body care, both inside and out. There are foods that are very healthy and nutritious when eating them, but they also work when applying them on the skin in the form of masks, moisturizers, oils, etc.
In this new section I will show you my tricks and my homemade recipes so you can prepare at home your own beauty and personal care products.
